Saint Lawrence Academy athletic department strives for breadth, both in terms of student participation and in diversity of sports. The two objectives are closely intertwined. Maintaining a variety of sports in a small school requires involvement of a large percentage of the student body, and high rates of student participation make it possible to offer more sports. With approximately 55% of SLA students participating in athletics, the program is successful.

The school’s “no cut” policy contributes to the breadth of student participation. All students who actively attend team practices and games are guaranteed a spot on the team roster. The no cut policy encourages students to participate in a wide variety of sports, without concern for one’s particular skill set.
